Two Ohio Dermatology Practices Join the QualDerm Partners Network

Andrew D. Quillin, MD Dermatology and Westerville Dermatology Partner with Center for Surgical Dermatology & Dermatology Associates, a QualDerm-affiliated Practice

BRENTWOOD, TN (October 9, 2018)

QualDerm Partners, a company that creates market-leading dermatology practice partnerships through affiliations and de novo development, today announced Andrew D. Quillin, MD Dermatology and Westerville Dermatology have joined the company’s Ohio network of affiliated physician-owned practices.

With these partnerships, QualDerm now has 5 affiliated practice locations in Ohio. In 2017, the Center for Surgical Dermatology & Dermatology Associates (CSD/DA) became the first Ohio-based dermatology practice to partner with QualDerm. CSD/DA serves as QualDerm’s Ohio platform practice.

Based in Columbus, Andrew D. Quillin, MD Dermatology provides general dermatology as well as surgical dermatology to patients of all ages. Andrew Quillin, MD, a board-certified dermatologist founded the practice in 1998. Dr. Quillin completed an internship at Riverside Medical Hospital in Ohio, and residencies at New York Medical College and Columbia University Medical Center.

“I chose to affiliate with QualDerm because their state-based partnership model allows physicians to have a voice in how practices are managed at the local level,” says Andrew Quillin, MD. “I look forward to working with my QualDerm-affiliated colleagues to expand access to care across Ohio.”

Westerville Dermatology serves patients in the Greater Columbus region, providing comprehensive dermatologic diagnosis and treatment, cosmetic laser and rejuvenation procedures. The practice’s staff includes 3 board-certified dermatologists. Kevin Karikomi, DO, was one of the first physicians to bring laser surgery to Columbus over 2 decades ago, treating port wine stains and vascular lesions. He studied at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Karikomi completed a residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he served as Co-Chief Resident. Rosina Lin, MD, earned her degree at Jefferson Medical College and served as Chief Resident at Wright State University in Dayton during her residency there. Also on staff is Joshua Grosshandler, MD. He attended Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed a residency at Wright State University, where he served as Chief Resident.

“Our mission at Westerville Dermatology is to give our patients the best care possible,” says Kevin Karikomi, DO. “I’m confident that partnering with QualDerm will help us continue to serve our patients now and into the future.”

QualDerm’s True PartnershipSM model is designed to maintain physicians’ autonomy. Physicians serve in leadership roles throughout the organization to ensure business decisions align with what is best for patients. The company utilizes regional Joint Operating Committees and a physician-led Quality Council. Further, each state is set up as its own QualDerm partnership entity to allow for greater control at the local level.

“Managing a dermatology practice is becoming increasingly difficult,” says Rosina Lin, MD. “Being a part of QualDerm’s larger, quality-driven network helps position our practice for long-term success while preserving our patient-centric culture.”

Under the partnership agreements, QualDerm will provide both practices with management support, guidance and capital for growth. QualDerm has practice locations in Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Pennsylvania and has plans to expand further over the next several months.

“We’re excited Andrew D. Quillin, MD Dermatology and Westerville Dermatology have chosen to partner with QualDerm,” says Bill Southwick, Chief Executive Officer of QualDerm. “Both practices have a reputation for providing high-quality patient care. We’re eager to help them expand their services and grow their practices.”
