Director of Practice Operations - PA



Responsible for directing the day-to-day clinical operations and assisting with integration of new practices in the Pennsylvania region. This position provides leadership for all positions that support dermatology patient care. This position reports directly to the respective RVP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support daily to all providers, leads and office coordinators
  • Review procedures and protocols in order to provide improvement in operations
  • Ensure that all offices and departments run as smoothly and effectively as possible
  • Focus on of key drivers of the business including management of provider schedules, practice expenses, quality metrics and patient satisfaction
  • Provider licensure, insurance and healthcare facility credentialing management
  • EMR provider & licensure setup: login, password & security settings, obtain provider license, obtain & upload signature, create schedule template
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring for open positions across the state
  • Monitor provider schedules daily and oversee provider time off
  • Oversee AHCA, CLIA, CAP, and ASF licensure verification
  • Coordinate all preventative maintenance on MOHS and histology laboratory equipment
  • Negotiate and coordinate purchasing of medical and laboratory equipment with various vendors
  • Assist RVP with physician recruitment process
  • Assist RVP with the communication of approved bonus/financial summary report information to each provider at the end of each quarter
  • Oversee performance evaluation process for practice managers
  • Approve expense reimbursements for all clinical staff and providers
  • Coordinate new facility openings
  • Oversee coordination of ongoing staff trainings, meetings and development
  • Oversee and implement IT improvements for the practice.
  • Participate in special projects as needed


Other Functions:

  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be highly professional in appearance, tone and delivery and an effective communicator
  • Dedicated to follow-thru and results
  • Flexibility as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities
  • Knowledge of dermatology practice preferable
  • Must be an exceptional listener, with the proven ability to problem-solve issues discussed
  • Interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills are important
  • The ability to work independently and in a group setting, high integrity, reasonable and thoughtful judgment, a sense of urgency and analytical and intuitive skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record


Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year university program.
  • Minimum: 2-year Associate Degree in business management or comparable, relevant years of experience
  • Prior practice management experience required, preferable experience managing multi-site practices
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of medical office operations
