Based in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Bikowski Skin Care Center was founded in 1978, by Joseph B. Bikowski, MD. The practice offers a full-range of general dermatology and skin cancer care for patients of all ages. In addition to Dr. Bikowski, a board-certified dermatologist, the practice’s clinical staff includes Danielle Abel and Emily Penz, both certified Physician Assistants.

Dr. Bikowski earned his medical degree from George Washington University Medical School in Washington, D.C., where he also completed medical and surgical internships. He served as a General Medical Officer in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, at Ft. Bragg, NC. Dr. Bikowski then completed his dermatology residency at Ohio State University Hospital. He originated the Galderma Pre-Board Slide Seminar, the review course to assist board-eligible dermatologists in preparation for the American Board of Dermatology’s certifying examination. Since its inception in 1980 until 2013, Dr. Bikowski edited and directed that seminar, which over 85% of all board-certified dermatologists have taken. In the past, Dr. Bikowski presented at the local, state and national levels and has over 100 publications in the dermatologic literature. Dr. Bikowski is currently on or has been on the editorial staffs of Cutis, Cosmetic Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and Dermatology Times and is the Chief Medical Editor of Practical Dermatology and Practical Dermatology for Pediatricians.
Since partnering with Zitelli & Brodland, P.C. in 2018, QualDerm has continued to expanded its network of quality-driven dermatology practices in Pennsylvania and in other regions. Today, QualDerm has a total of 44 practice locations in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Georgia, with plans to expand further.
