Dermatology of Central Ohio Joins QualDerm’s Growing Network of Quality-Focused Practices
BRENTWOOD, TN (August 13, 2019)
QualDerm Partners, a company that creates market-leading dermatology practice partnerships through affiliations and de novo development, today announced Dermatology of Central Ohio has joined the company’s network of affiliated physician-owned practices.
Dermatology of Central Ohio provides general dermatology and skin cancer care as well as aesthetic services. The practice was founded by J. Michael Holsinger, D.O., a board-certified dermatologist, in 2009. Vera Smith, a certified physician assistant, also provides clinical care at the practice.
“Our goal at Dermatology of Central Ohio has always been to provide patients with the highest-quality of care,” says Dr. Holsinger. “We chose to affiliate with QualDerm because of their reputation for building true partnerships with physicians, which ensures patient care remains the top priority of the practices.”
Dr. Holsinger is an Ohio native and graduated Cum Laude from The Ohio State University. He earned his medical degree at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. Dr. Holsinger completed his dermatology residency at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. He helps train dermatology residents from the Ohio University and regularly provides dermatology lectures at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dermatology of Central Ohio is QualDerm’s eighth affiliated practice location in Ohio. Under this partnership agreement, QualDerm will provide the management support, guidance, and capital to expand the practice’s services and geographical reach. QualDerm first entered the Ohio region in 2017, when the company partnered with the Center for Surgical Dermatology & Dermatology Associates. Today, QualDerm has 38 affiliated practice locations in Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, with plans to expand further.
Physician leadership is a cornerstone of QualDerm’s partnership model. The company utilizes regional Joint Operating Committees and a physician-led Quality Council to help guide the company’s policies and growth. These groups are made up of both physicians and business professionals and are responsible for ensuring patient care and safety standards remain at the highest levels.
“We’re excited to further expand QualDerm’s network of affiliated practices in Ohio,” says Bill Southwick, Chief Executive Officer of QualDerm. “Dr. Holsinger is well respected among his patients and peers. We look forward to helping him expand his practice’s services and increasing patients’ access to high-quality dermatological care.”
